Spend a Day in Prescott
Prescott, nestled amongst the pines, is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Just an hour and a half north of Phoenix, you will find a great escape from the summer heat of the valley. From mountain biking for all skill levels to a history-filled downtown, there are countless ways to spend the day in Prescott. Here is an itinerary of 5 fun things to guarantee you a great time when exploring our beloved town.
Historic Courthouse and Whiskey Row
Start your morning with a stroll down history lane with a visit to the original courthouse plaza, built in 1878. This grand red-brick courthouse featured a basement, two stories of working rooms, and a clock tower with an 800-pound bell. After a fire in 1892, an addition was built, and electricity was installed in 1894, requiring further work to connect the structures. The courthouse plaza is located in the middle of what is known as "Whiskey Row". Legendary figures like Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holliday frequented whiskey row to quench their thirst, revel in camaraderie, or join in poker games. This spirited stretch of downtown earned its moniker due to the astounding presence of over 40 saloons lining its streets at one time.
Brunch at Bistro St Michael
